What I learned from training amongst strength and conditioning coaches that were working with world champion boxers in Virgil Hunter’s gym forever impacted how I view preparing to compete. Whether it’s for a title fight or a Little League playoff game.

“The NASM Performance Enhancement Specialization will prepare you to work with athletes at any level from youth sports to professional athletes…the PES program will help you improve clients’ athletic performance including their power, speed, agility and quickness.”

The sports surgeon Dr. James R. Andrews said that he now sees four times as many overuse injuries in youth sports as he did just five years ago and that more children today are having to undergo surgery for chronic sports injuries.
They cited an analysis of training regimens which found “at least 60 percent of all injuries sustained were in direct relation to training and could be avoided by appropriate changes in training programs.”
