In the final speech delivered by President Barack Obama addressing the First Lady Michelle Obama,
"You took on a role you didn't ask for, and made it your own with grace and with GRIT, with style and good humor."
Angela Lee Duckworth, during her TED talk, discusses her theory of GRIT as a predictor of success:
“... grit is usually unrelated or even inversely related to measures of talent.”
Carol S. Dweck, Professor of Psycology at Stanford University, researches what she calls a 'growth mindset,' the power of believing you can improve:
“The belief that the ability to learn is not fixed, it can change with your effort...when the brain changes and grows in response to challenge, we realize that failure is not a permanent condition.”
"...the meaning of effort and difficulty were transformed. Before, effort and difficulty made (them) feel dumb, made them feel like giving up, but now, effort and difficulty, that’s when their neurons are making new connections, stronger connections. That's when they're getting smarter."
The work I do lies at the intersection of of becoming the stone that can be ground and truly realizing that failure is not a permanent condition.
“I believe that the mind is the first of many layers of foundational work necessary to get in the best shape of our lives; and consequently become the complexly high-functioning individuals that we dream of being. ”
Somehow, learning to jumprope on a dirty mat outside in changing weather conditions is the perfect way to transform my client's definitions of effort and difficulty, and eventually, literally take the ceiling off what they believe themselves to be physically capable of.
My goal with every client is to generate or reinforce an exponential strength of self through discovering and building an elite physical prowess.
“I teach confidence and capability”
Having GRIT is being brave enough to let me take you to the land of GO HARD, to learn how to train like an athlete,
